On Sunday, December 29, 2024, Honorable Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, a member of the House of Representatives representing Mashi/ Dutsi constituencies in Katsina State, inaugurated a Health Science Demonstration Lab at the GIAL School in Katsina. The laboratory, named the "Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri Demonstration Lab," is an initiative of former federal lawmaker Honorable Hamisu Gambo Danlawan Katsina.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Hamisu Gambo explained the choice of Hon. Salisu Majigiri's name for the laboratory. He remarked:
“We chose this name to honor Hon. Salisu Majigiri for his significant contributions to the people of Katsina State, particularly his efforts in advancing healthcare. Similarly, we have named other facilities in this school after notable figures, such as the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, former Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former Governor Aminu Bello Masari, and the Emirs of Katsina and Daura. This is a way of appreciating their invaluable contributions to the state and the nation.”

In his response, Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating:
“This honor takes me back 32 years when I was a health science student. I now realize the profound impact of my education, seeing my name on a facility related to health. This motivates me further to support young people in acquiring education and training in this field to improve our communities.”

Hon. Majigiri commended the state-of-the-art equipment in the laboratory and the expertise of the teaching staff. He said:
“I haven’t seen modern equipment like this in a long time. The instructors’ clarity in explanations is impressive, which reassures me that the school is on the right track.”

He pledged continued support to the GIAL School, emphasizing the importance of such institutions in advancing education and healthcare in Katsina State and Nigeria at large.

The event was attended by dignitaries from various parts of the state, who lauded the effort to establish the laboratory, which is expected to enhance learning and healthcare in Katsina.
